A year on, MP lags behind India in handling e-wasteMore than a year after the e-waste management and handling rules 2012 came into effect in the country, Madhya Pradesh is yet to have a dedicated e-waste collection centre. The states were to ensure a proper channel of collection and disposal of e-waste after May 1, 2012.
While the primary requirement of e-waste collection centres in main cities of the state are not in place, forget about recyclers.

10 plants to convert Mumbai's garbage into energyThe Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed the setting up of at least 10 waste-to-energy plants to process 8,000 metric tonnes of garbage generated everyday in the city. It is, however, not clear what the BMC plans to do with the power that is generated.
Additional municipal commissioner Mohan Adtani said each plant will require five to six acres to process at least 1,000 metric tonnes of garbage.
