Not ready for BS-IV switch: Auto industry

To check toxic emissions from heavy diesel vehicles, the Supreme Court-mandated Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) recently directed manufacturers that all vehicles sold from April 1, 2017, should be BS IV compliant. This would mean no BS-III compliant vehicle is sold or registered beyond April 1. But Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has informed EPCA that it will be "very difficult" for firms to comply with this order.

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has admitted the petition filed by the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) for the introduction of green power (renewable energy) contracts.
