Singapore co projects demand for solar chargers in rural IndiaSingapore-based solar charger maker, Third Wave Power, expects a strong demand for its power packages in rural India. Mahbubnagar, Vijayawada to be developed as solar citiesNew and renewable energy minister Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that Vijayawada and Mahbubnagar will be developed as solar cities. "Vijayawada and Mahbubnagar have been identified for developing them as solar cities," Abdullah informed the Rajya Sabha. Gurgaon set to have its own waste plantGurgaon may soon have its 'own' solid waste management plant. With growing generation of waste, owing to the rising population in the city, the authorities are now looking beyond Bandhwari. The recent fire at the shut Bandhwari plant has also added fuel to the idea of having an independent plant for the city. So far, the plant at Bandhwari has been a 'joint venture' between Gurgaon and Faridabad.
Talking to TOI, Faridabad municipal commissioner Suprabha Dahiya made it clear it's time separate plants were set up for both the cities.

Odisha plans Rs 400 cr solar power plant at BoudhThe state energy department plans to set up a 50 Mw solar power project at Manmunda in Boudh district at an investment of around Rs 400 crore.
