Inox Wind says will put up 500 mw; industry consolidation inevitableInox Wind, part of the $2-billion Inox group, is planning to do 500 Mw of wind power plants this year with 300 Mw orders, worth roughly Rs 1,800 crore, already on its books. PAU gets project to lessen climate change impact on groundwaterThe Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has been allotted a research project "Groundwater Resource Management to Mitigate the Impact of Climate Change in Punjab and Haryana", under the sponsored grant component of National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture, Hyderabad.

PGVCL to install 500 solar pumps in farmsThe Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), under the state government's project, is planning to install 500 solar pumps in several farms of Saurashtra at the expenditure of Rs 20 crore.

Solar Energy Corp plans four pilot projectsSolar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a newly formed public sector company, plans to call for bids for four pilot solar thermal power projects, requiring an investment of about Rs 2,555 crore. The projects have been sanctioned viability gap funding (VGF) of Rs 1,020 crore and the bidders who seek the least funding will bag the projects. ZAC plant shut due to water crisisFertilizer and seeds company Zuari Agro Chemicals Thursday said operations at the urea/ammonia plant in Goa, which were shut for annual maintenance, could not be resumed due to a water crisis. Gamesa to Supply 230 Megawatts of Turbines for India Wind FarmsGamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA (GAM), Spain’s largest wind-turbine maker, agreed to supply 230 megawatts of gear to two companies building power plants in India. Gamesa is providing 65 of its 2-megawatt turbines to CLP Holdings Ltd.’s China Light & Power India unit and will maintain them for 10 years, the Zamudio, Spain-based company said in a statement today.
