Madhya Pradesh to provide state guarantee for 750 Mw Rewa ultra mega solar project

To ensure viability of its ultra mega solar energy park at Rewa, the Madhya Pradesh government will extend a state guarantee to the flagship project. Billed as the world’s largest contiguous solar park, the project entails an investment of Rs 7,500 crore.
The guarantee would ensure against a default in payment to Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMS), a joint venture of the state’s Urja Vikas Nigam and the Union government’s Solar Energy Corporation of India.

CPCB directs 21 states to curb air pollution

Asking 21 states to take action against air pollution within the given deadline, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued a total of 31 directions under six different sections.

The order asks the states to form an action plan to check fuel adulteration and public helplines in all towns for air pollution within 30 days and action for non-complying industries within 60 days.

SC Lifts Ban On Big Diesel Cars, Slaps 1% Green Cess

Haryana to generate power from waste at Bandhwari plant

Tonnes of solid waste lying at Bandhwari waste treatment plant will now be used for generation of power.

About 10 megawatt of power can be generated everyday with 1500 tonnes of municipal waste received by Gurgaon and Faridabad at the Bandhwari plant. This was announced by the urban local bodies department that instructed the power discom on Wednesday to buy electricity as per norms.
