India Secretary: To Seek Bids For 300 MW Solar Projects In A MonthIndia will seek bids for 300 megawatts of solar projects within a month, Renewable Energy Secretary Deepak Gupta said Monday. He said the federal government has received 340 responses after it recently sought initial bids for 620 MW of solar projects. First Solar Wins Contract for 15 Megawatts in IndiaFirst Solar Inc., the world’s largest maker of thin-film solar modules, said it won a contract to supply 15 megawatts of panels to India’s ACME Tele Power Ltd. First Solar shares jumped as much as 2.6 percent after the Tempe, Arizona-based company said today in an e-mailed statement that it will ship the panels to ACME for a project in Gujarat by March.
