Hong Kong’s CLP to Triple Renewable Energy Capacity in IndiaThe Indian unit of CLP Holdings Ltd. Penalties collected from discoms to help promote wind energyThe government will create a corpus out of penalties paid by state-run power distribution utilities to promote wind energy projects of 10 MW or more capacity. The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved the fund, its chairman Pramod Deo said. IFC plans to invest $55m in wind energy firmInternational Finance Corporation (IFC), the investment arm of the World Bank, is planning to set up $55 million debt-equity investment (about Rs 248 crore) in Simran Wind Project, the clean energy arm of Kolkata-based listed firm Techno Electric and Engineering Company.
