India to add 5700 MW solar capacity in FY17: Report

Nearly 5,700 MW of solar capacity is expected to be added during 2016-17, even as concerns over aggressive bidding and regulatory challenges persist, says rating agency Icra.

Thane Municipal Corporation to generate fuel from green waste

The TMC recently successfully tested its initiative to generate fuel from green waste at its kopri stp unit.

Tata Motors bags order to supply 25 hybrid electric buses to MMRDA

Tata Motors on Wednesday said it will supply 25 hybrid electric buses to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

The contract to supply Tata Starbus Diesel Series Hybrid Electric Bus with full low floor configuration is the single largest order awarded for hybrid electric vehicle technology, Tata Motors said in a statement.

Pavagada solar park to be operational in two years

Work on the State government’s ambitious solar park project at Pavagada in Tumakuru district will be completed and the largest such plant in the world will become operational within two years, Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said.

India’s SECI tendering 100MW of PV in Chhattisgarh

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for selection (RfS) for 100MW of solar PV projects in the state of Chhattisgarh.

The tender comes as part of the National Solar Mission Phase II, Batch III.

This week SECI has already awarded 75MW capacity in Uttar Pradesh to French developer SolaireDirect and 50MW to RattanIndia is separate auctions. Both auctions suggested that competitive appetite remains in the Indian auction process.

Japan's ORIX, IL&FS form JV for clean energy projects

Suzlon Energy wins 60 MW in NTPC reverse solar e-auction

Suzlon Energy emerged the big winner in the latest NTPC reverse e-auction for solar projects in Rajasthan, winning 60MW of the 100MW on offer by agreeing to sell power at Rs 5.07 per kwH.

Rattan India Group firm RattanIndia Solar Ltd has won solar project of 50 MW capacity at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh.
