Maharashtra to invite tenders to supply solar pumps to farmersThe Maharashtra government will invite tenders this month to supply 10,000 solar-powered agricultural pumps to farmers on a pilot basis, an official in the state energy ministry said. IMF says energy subsidies are now US$5.3 trillionAccording to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), global energy subsidies increased from US$4.2 trillion in 2011 to US$5.3 trillion in 2015. Big jump in renewable energy certificates trading volumesThe marked pick-up in the demand for renewable energy certificates that was seen in the trading session for May, which was held on Wednesday, has been attributed to a recent judgment of the Supreme Court.
