Railways to sell garbage at stations

Eager to generate non-fare revenue from various sources, Railways is firming up proposals to sell the garbage generated at stations across the country.

State, neighbours step up efforts to curb pollution in Ghaggar

To contain pollution in the Ghaggar river, pollution control boards of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have increased the number of joint sampling points (JSP) from 18 to 21.

Preserving forest carbon sinks top of donors' climate mitigation agenda

Government to hold separate auctions for solar projects using desi modules

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has decided to hold separate auctions for solar projects using domestically manufactured modules to help local producers of panels that can tap the sun's energy. India to add 4,300 MW wind power capacity in 2016-17: Tulsi Tanti

India's wind power capacity is set to grow 30 per cent or 4,300 MW in 2016-17, helped by capacity addition in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, among others, Suzlon Group Chairman Tulsi Tanti said.

At present, the total wind power installed capacity in the country is around 27 GW, accounting for about 9 per cent of India's total installed capacity.

India’s SECI expected to install around 275MW from 500MW rooftop tender

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is expected to install just 250-300MW of capacity from its 500MW rooftop tender, according to the latest forecasts from consultancy firm Bridge to India.

All public transport vehicles to ply on CNG from November in Allahabad

Pollution Board to keep an eye on polluting industries

The district pollution board has succeeded in goading major polluting industries in Ghaziabad and Hapur to install online pollution monitoring systems. As per pollution board officials a total of 22 industries under 'most polluting' category have installed a system called Continuous Stack Emission Monitoring Systems (CSEMS) which enables the pollution board to keep a tab on the discharge of effluents on a real time basis without physically visiting the site.
