World’s First Full-Scale Bio Plant Will Sort Waste from 110,000 Homes Annually

Danish cleantech company DONG Energy is constructing the world’s first full-scale bio plant capable of handling household waste by means of enzymes. Ludhiana MC issues waste disposal guidelines

Institutions, hotels, malls and schools with area above 5,000 sq metres will soon have to figure out how to manage their solid waste by themselves. The MC has received a notification from the Central government, according to which the building owner will have to segregate waste.

Waste that can be recycled is to be given to authorized recyclers or ragpickers. Building owners will also have to install a manure plant on the premises for waste management. Only residual waste will be given to collectors as directed by the municipal corporation (MC).
