Government to give Rs 1,800 crore assistance to IIT-B for Solar Urja Lamp

India is hoping to boost its considerable interests in Africa with a four-nation tour to the continent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi starting Thursday.

IMC to set up construction waste plant at Devguradia, in Madhya Pradesh

In a first, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is setting up a construction and demolition debris waste processing facility at Devguradia. The plant with an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore will be set up on public-private partnership (PPP) and will recycle construction waste into bricks, pavers and blocks.

Ministry of Environment and Forests relaxes rules for small Rajasthan mines

The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests has relaxed environment clearance norms for small mineral mines in Rajasthan, which were facing closure following a National Green Tribunal order of June 14.

HAL inaugurates 6.3 mw wind energy plant near Bengaluru

State-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) today said it has inaugurated a 6.3 mw wind power plant at Harapanahalli in Davangere district, about 335 km from here, at a cost of Rs 44 crore.

Power generated from the plant would be used for captive energy consumption at Bengaluru, the company said in a release.

This is the first-ever megawatt scale renewable energy project that HAL has set up and would explore more such projects going forward, the company said.

Renewables certificates demand in India rises in June

Demand for both solar and non-solar renewable energy certificates (RECs) in India jumped in June, which may be attributed to Uttarakhand’s move to strengthen enforcement of the Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO).

Total of 51,015 solar RECs were sold last month, up from just 20,083 in May. Non-solar REC sales also grew to 417,426 sold certificates, as compared to 161,858 redeemed units in May.... Read more..

Karnataka to buy 1,000 MW from Solar Energy Corporation
