NGT directs state govt to list industries polluting West UP rivers

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to provide the list of industries which are said to have contributed to the pollution of rivers and groundwater sources in six districts of western UP. Himachal to get India’s first solar wind power plant

State-run Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board (HPEBL) and Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI) signed a pact to set up India’s first solar wind hybrid power plant in the hill state.

Going green: Punjab gets world's biggest rooftop solar plant

Touted to be the biggest one of its kind in the world, the 11.5 MW rooftop solar energy plant was inaugurated on Tuesday by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at the Radha Soami sect headquarters here.

GERC jerks up wind tariff

World Bank approves $625 m loan to support rooftop solar programme in India

The board of World Bank has approved a $625 million loan to support the central government’s programme to generate electricity from rooftop solar power plants.

The board also approved a co-financing loan of $120 million on concessional terms and a $5 million grant from the Climate Investment Fund’s Clean Technology Fund, the global development bank said in a statement on Monday.

Solar manufacturing industry still waiting to take off

World's largest floating windfarm to be built off Scottish coast

The world’s largest floating windfarm is set to be built off the coast of Scotland after its developers were granted a seabed lease on Monday.
