MP plans to ease pollution norms for textile unitsAiming to attract investments in textile sector, Madhya Pradesh government is contemplating to ease pollution control norms. India Clean-Energy Investments Reach $10.3 Billion in 2011: BNEFInvestment in clean-energy projects grew faster in India than in any other major economy last year, rising 52 percent to $10.3 billion, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. NTPC in favour of penalty on Coal India for not meeting supply commitmentsNTPC Ltd, India's top power producer, is in favour of imposing penalty on state-run Coal India Ltd for not meeting supply commitments, NTPC Chairman Arup Roy Choudhury said. State-run NTPC would also like the government to set up a coal regulator to ensure the world's top coal producer is meeting its supply commitments, he said. Coal accounts for more than half of power generation in the country. KfW Committed $30 Billion to Climate, Environment in 2011KfW, Germany’s state-owned development bank, committed 22.8 billion euros ($30 billion) to climate and environment projects last year, almost a third of all its lending, and said it will increase this share in 2012. The bank provided about 32 percent of all its funding to these areas, compared with 31 percent in the previous year, Wolfram Schweickhardt, a KfW spokesman, said today by e-mail. Suzlon bags Rs 600 crore contract from CLP IndiaWind turbine-maker Suzlon today said it has bagged an over Rs 600 crore contract from CLP India, the Indian subsidiary of Hongkong-based power company CLP, for setting up a 100-MW project in Rajasthan. Indian firm working to make diesel out of plastic wasteTime seems not too far when diesel would be extracted from plastic waste in India. A Mumbai-based firm has drawn up plans to set up a plant to convert plastic waste into light diesel, calorific value combustible gas and carbon pellets.
