Green buildings seen as $30 bn-marketA host of companies are showing keen interest for environment-friendly construction in India, pushing analysts to project the market size for "green buildings" to grow three-fold from $10 billion to $30 billion in the next four years. Tata BP Solar commissions first plant in APTata BP Solar India, a joint venture between Tata Power and BP Solar, today said it commissioned its first plant in Andhra Pradesh under the National Solar Mission. The 1 megawatt plant was synchronised to the grid on September 17. The project is owned and developed by Ramakrishna Industries at Shadnagar in Andhra, the company said in a statement here. Co2 Emissions Soared 45 Percent From 1990 to 2010 Report SaysGlobal carbon dioxide emissions increased by 45 percent between 1990 and 2010, reaching a record high 33 billion tons last year, according to a report by the European Commission's Joint Research Center.
