Less wind power leads to power cutsThe reduction in the availability of wind power on Tuesday compelled the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd to enforce power cuts for two to five hours in the state. However, load shedding was averted on Wednesday as the distribution company secured 1,200 MW power from the power exchange. EDF-Backed Acme Wins 30-Megawatt Solar Project in IndiaAcme Solar Energy Pvt., backed by Electricite de France SA’s renewable unit, won a license to build a 30-megawatt solar-power project in central India. Acme will sign a 25-year contract to sell electricity generated by the plant to the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co., it said in an e-mailed statement.
