It will be warmer by 2030, says climate change reportThe Karnataka Climate Change Action Plan (KCCAP) — a comprehensive report on the impact of change on the climate of the State, prepared by Bangalore Climate Change Initiative-Karnataka (BCCI-K) states that failure to protect the environment will impact forest area to the extent of 38 per cent by 2030 and most areas in the State will experience rise in temperature from 1.8 to 2.2 degrees Celsius. Students In India Study Water Hyacinth for EthanolStudents around the world are in search of new alternatives to fossil fuels. Several biotech students in Surat, Gujarat are studying the water hyacinth as a feedstock to produce ethanol. Global CO2 emissions reach record high in 2010: IEAEnergy-related carbon-dioxide (CO2) emission reached a record high in 2010, up by five% from the last record in 2008, the Paris-based International Energy Agency (IEA) said.
