GM India may produce electric mini-carThe company plans to come up with an electric car soon after it showcases the model next month in the country. The company will also introduce a diesel variant of its small car Beat with a 1.0-litre engine in June. Forest dept will not let villagers harvest bambooUnion minister Jairam Ramesh's order notwithstanding, the state forest department is unwilling to transfer the rights over harvesting bamboos to forest dwellers. The department currently holds the right to harvest bamboo in the state.
